The PTO is a group of parents, caregivers, and school staff who come together to:
- Connect with each other and with the staff members who attend our meetings.
- Share information and strengthen relationships between Flynn community members.
- Collaborate on ways to support Flynn students, families, and staff.
- Build community and increase our sense of belonging – while having some fun along the way!
The PTO funds and supports community care initiatives, enrichment opportunities, and community events:
Community Care: We work with guidance counselors to help ensure that the Flynn Food Shelf is stocked for anyone who needs it.
Enrichment Opportunities:
- Fieldtrip Funds: Funds for grade-level teams for annual field trips and to provide enrichment opportunities for Unified Arts (UA) classes.
- Teacher & Staff Mini Grants: Support classroom innovation and student enrichment by funding small-scale purchases, events, and activities, including:
- Purchases: One-time classroom or extracurricular items.
- Student Enrichment: Supplies, equipment, speakers, refreshments
- Other Opportunities: Events/materials that enhance student learning.
Community Events: The PTO also plans and runs a number of annual community events, including:
- Back to School BBQ – September 17
- Very Merry Theater School Play (for grades 3-5) – November 14-16
- Family Traditions Dinner – January 30
- Skate Night – March 28
- Staff Appreciation Week – May 4-8
- 5th Grade Bridging Celebration – June (Date TBD)
