Join us for the Back to School BBQ and Open House next Wednesday, September 17th (BBQ from 5-6pm, Open House from 6-7pm)! This wonderful FREE event is put on by the PTO – and we’re so grateful for your support to make it happen. Want to help? Kindergarten and First Grade Families: Join us for a Flynn Playground Meetup on Tuesday, September 23rd from 5:30-7pm. It’s a great opportunity to meet other K-1 kids, families, and teachers. We’ll have freezie pops for the kiddos.
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Families: The Very Merry Theater school play is coming in November (woo hoo!), and preparations start next week! Please read this information closely and keep your eyes open for more details coming home soon.
Students in grades 3-5 will have the option of participating:
- 3rd Grade Chorus: no auditions, practices will occur during the school day
- 4th and 5th Grade Cast: auditions next week, practices during the school day
- 4th and 5th Grade Crew: no auditions, meetings during the school day
Key dates:
Week of 9/9: Permission slips go home with students
Week of 9/15: Auditions (4th and 5th grade speaking parts only)
September 19: Permission slips due
Week of 9/22: 4th and 5th grade speaking parts start rehearsals during lunch/recess
Week of 9/29: 3rd grade Chorus and 4th/5th grade Crew start meeting during lunch/recess
Saturday 11/8 (10am-3pm): Set building day (will need adult volunteers)
Performances (everyone is welcome to attend!)
- Thursday November 13th: during the school day
- Friday November 14th at 6:30pm
- Saturday November 15th at 2:00pm
Our first PTO meeting was a big success! Thank you to everyone who joined! It was wonderful to have so many new parents and caregivers – we had more than 24 attendees! Our next meeting is on Thursday, October 9th at 6:30pm in the Library at school. We’d love to see you there! The PTO is a great way to meet other families, learn more about what’s happening at Flynn, and to give back to our school and our community.
