Greetings Flynn Families,
I wanted to share a brief message with you as we prepare for our final week of school before our next vacation. When we return from our April break, there will be 7 short weeks of school left! This means that Flynn Staff are already beginning to think about the next school year. Spring is a time of renewal, and it’s a time when all of us educators’ brains naturally begin thinking about what’s next!
To prepare to close out the year, we recently started building class rosters for the upcoming school year. This is a lengthy process that goes through several drafts. School counselors, classroom teachers, Special Educators, ELL Teachers, and Unified Arts Teachers all work together with the Principal to provide input on class rosters.
Just like last year, we will share with you about your child’s teacher in August. This gives us time over the summer to continue to make adjustments to class rosters as students transfer in and out of Flynn Elementary School.
Throughout this process, we work to build class rosters that are as equitable as possible. What does this mean? It means that we try to build class rosters that have a balanced number of students based on identities like gender, race, IEP-status, home language, etc. We also work to take your feedback into account. Thank you to those of you who shared feedback via our Family Input Form. This was the first year that we moved to an electronic form rather than a paper copy – we have had so many more families submit their input on this electronic form than ever before. I encourage you to fill this form out if you haven’t done so already. We look at the feedback as we build the rosters.
If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Good morning Sondra,
The following are agencies that offer summer programming….Burlington Parks and Rec, Sara Holbrook Center. I also put in camp notices in the newsletter that your grandson’s parents would receive.
